George Mimis / Managing Director

With over 20 years of experience in the sports industry George has been pioneering in recognising and advancing athletes needs for sound career and commercial advice. He has also overseen and managed a business with commercial reach and experience across all facets of the sports industry including talent, major events, television, sponsorship, sports marketing and digital.  

 

With a commercial background in merchant banking and a founder of SFX Australia, George Mimis has successfully managed the business affairs of many well-known sports identities.   George has top level relationships with major media groups, sporting teams and sports sponsors and has cultivated some of the longest standing relationships within the industry.  

 

He attended the University of Sydney studying a Bachelor of Economics & Econometrics.

Darryl Mather / Director of Athlete Representation

Darryl has previously held positions at Sydney Water and Sportscraft/Country Road within HR capacities over a 20 year period.

 

Since commencement with SFX in 1997, Darryl has been pivotal in negotiating and securing elite and aspiring talent for Australia and abroad.  He is a strong advocate for developing athletes to their full potential, while ensuring that the clubs that they play for are best suited to their individual circumstances.

 

Darryl has also attended the University of Technology Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Adult Education and a Masters of Education (Adult Education).

Paul Sutton / Director, Talent

Paul is a respected and highly credentialed agent within the rugby league landscape. His high work ethic and innate ability to identify emerging talent is unparalleled.

 

Paul's 15+ years within the industry has seen him develop, nurture and ultimately forge the careers of household names within rugby league, such as Michael Morgan, Luke Keary, Josh Dugan, Jake and Tom Trbojevic, to name a handful.

 

He is a leader in contract negotiations, a firm believer in reaching mutually beneficial outcomes and is driven to ensure that both his clients and stakeholders have a positive association with his dealings.

Stan Martin / Head of Football Operations (NZ)

Stan is an NRL Accredited Agent who has over 45 years experience in Rugby League, from his early playing days through to his coaching career and then onto his time as an administrator for the Auckland Rugby League, as their Coaching and Development Manager.

 

Stan has also been actively involved in the Sport Management business for over 15 years.

Peter Menicou / Client Manager

Before joining SFX in 2010, Peter had spent the previous 15 years working with Sydney based NRL clubs. Working closely with the Coaching staff, including, video analysis, player welfare, recruitment before moving on to live match day stats for NYC, NSW Cup and NRL.  

 

Peter’s primary focus for SFX is junior talent recruitment. As well as becoming a fully Accredited Player Agent in 2012,

 

Peter is also at University studying for a Master of Management Degree.

Steve Shearer / Client Manager

Steve  joined SFX after running his own sports management company for 6 years. During this time Steve has identified and is now managing some of the best young talent in the game. SFX made the approach to Steve back in 2014,  with the view of Steve's expertise and his ability to identify talent in a key demographical area for rugby league.

 

Steve is well renowned for the level of service he provides his clients. 

 

Having held Senior Executive positions right throughout his career, Steve understands the professionalism required in today’s modern game and the importance of maximising opportunities for his clients.

Wayne Honeywood / Financial Controller

Wayne is responsible for the internal accounting function at SFX. 

 

Wayne is responsible for the accounting function within SFX, both for payable and receivables and for all SFX clients.

Charlotte Arida / Athlete Marketing & PR

After studying an Advanced Diploma in Sports Management, Charlotte pursued her passion of working in the sporting industry. She previously worked for the Sydney Roosters Rugby League Club before moving to SFX to pursue her career goals further.

 

Charlotte has been a part of the SFX team for over 5 years and her role has seen her be involved within many facets of the organisation including Athlete Marketing, PR, Media, Events and much more, working with some of the games highest profile talent. 

 

Charlotte is an integral part of the SFX team and is responsible for the day to day management of marketing endorsements, PR, sponsorship fulfilment, media and compliance for SFX's stable of clients.

 

She is currently studying a Bachelor of Business, Marketing & PR.
